3 Ways to Steward Motherhood While Chasing Your Dreams

I want to encourage you to chase your dreams. Motherhood doesn't have to prevent you from doing the things you want. It changes the way you do them, but it doesn't have to dictate if you pursue them.

Here are 3 tips that have helped me steward motherhood while pursuing my God-given dreams:

  1. Honor God with your time.

Sitting down with God FIRST thing every day helps prioritize what you need to focus on that day. Reading Scripture reminds me to breathe, trust God with my time, and let the small stuff go. I can easily become overwhelmed and stressed by all the to-dos, housework, and dreams I want to accomplish. But sitting down with God reminds me to take it one task, one moment, and one day at a time.

Rome wasn't built in a day. God doesn't expect us to busy ourselves to the point we can't breathe. He wants us to steward each season with hope, courage, and excitement!

  1. Remain faithful to your NOW.

Something I'm learning... It's good to plan for what's ahead, but we can't live there. To faithfully steward each season, we must remain present to our current circumstances - even when they aren't what we exactly want.

    How do we remain present?

    - Develop a heart of gratitude. Praise God and thank Him for what you have now.

    - Surrender. Cast your cares, dreams, burdens, and anxieties on Him. Pray and release control over these outcomes.

    - Patience (long-suffering). Remain faithful in the everyday. God will take care of the rest.

Each season comes with its own form of highs and lows. Embrace them, and look to God in times when you need encouragement. You will find so much peace when you stop looking forward and start remaining present.

  1. Trust the process.

We want the quickest way. We don't like processes and waiting. Look at our food industry and social media. But waiting on the Lord is good for our spiritual growth. It builds faith. "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength..."

As we tackle one task a day, we wait on the Lord to guide us through the process, and He will give us the strength to complete all He wants us to do.

The question is: Am I trying to do what I want, or am I doing what He wants?

Seasons bring different assignments. God isn't asking you to do it all. He just wants you to be faithful with the season you’re in.
